We have been ordered to advance against the germans. With the vis at 12 may help us against the German big guns.

4 platoons have been sent against north Vhs one behind the other. They are in a small valley with a hill to the north and south of them. They are set with 2 platoons up the middle and there flanks protected by the 3rd and 4th platoons. There support consists of 3 sec cruisors, 2 sec Matildas plus 2 sec portees ATG. The scouts are out and moving. No contact with the enemy as yet. Our heavy guns has been bombarding for the past 3 turns. As soon as this lifts we will be in enemy territory.

The southern VH is on the extreme edge of the map. Protected by several hills and rough terrain. More to follow in next dispatch.

The southern VHs are further away from debarkation point then the north. The terrain is rougher and more hills. We are using the wadis and gulleys to manuver into position.

The southern force consists of 2 platoons from B company and 1 platoon of engineers. There tank support has 1 sec MKIs plus 2 sec. Cruisers And 1 sec Matildas.

There main objective is the southern VHs but they have a bigger use then that in the main scheme of my plan. After achieving the hexes they are to swing NE and out flank the northern VHs. If all goes well we should be able then to swing east with them and take the 2 rear objectives.

The men are in good spirits and ready to engage and destroy the enemy. Just recieved word our barrage has started to lift. We have begun to move so i must join the troops. Will notify you in later dispatches of our progress. Commander Nick Beal RSCP

Turn four not much goin on. South group took some small arms fire. Lost a bren lmg squad. Destroyed two MMg squads and 2 squads of paratroops. Laid in some 3 inch mortor and 2 inch mortor on there positions. Will assault on next turn.

Turn 5 south group at base of hill in front of VH. Destroyed a Stug Ausf B with out any losses. Have lost a few men from small arms. There 150 and 81 morters opened up this turn. No harm done tho most fell behind my lines. Think i may have found there morter park. Plotted and laid in some 8 inchers and 4.5 arrty.

North group has taken the front slope and north 1/2 of the hill overlooking the 1st VH. Middle group has run into stiff resistance.

Turn 10 and we made some progress. But we had some losses too. The Southern VH are ours. The south group has now turned NW to flank the north. 150 meters from taking first north VH. Severe losses tho.

We lost 2 matilda and a portee to a sig 150. We took it out also a PZ 38 to boot. Having trouble locating another SIG 150. Which has taken out a Cruiser. Lost a squad to a PZ38 then our 4.5 got him.

Lost a cruiser and another portee to a stug. Fired over 20 shots at him with maybe 15 of them hitting. Some damage to his turret was all we managed. Knocked off 2 more mmg plus about 7 squads and a AT rifle.

We are advancing on both the north and south flanks. The south VH are ours and moving on south rear VHs. The north vh are ours too and moving to the rear with them too. Took out 3 MMG bunkers with engineers.

This has been at a heavy price tho.Lost 2 vics and another 1 immobile to a pz38 before we sent him to hell. Crusier II A10 immobile to 37mm ATG. Got him tho and his buddy that was causing a slow down. Destoyed a 81 Mortor along with his back up a 37mm flak. Finnished off at least 7 squads and a recon of theres.
In the south got 2 stug b, 3 pz38 and an AT rifle plus various squads and MMG. We also lost another PKI and a portee. Retired the 3rd platoon from battle in the north. They were just too tore up to go on.
I believe we have broken thru on all fronts. Commander British Forces

The rear south VHs are ours. Not much resistence met there. But the story on the rear north VHs is different. The middle of my force seeing victory got a bit too greedy. My tank force went running off to capture the remaining VH. Left there cover force of infantry in there dust trails. Well they paid dearly for there stupidity. Ran into 2 37MM ATG and 2 37MM AA guns. Needless to say they were cut to ribbons. Our losses were 1 portee, 2 morris,1 vic and 2 cruisers. Our biggest single loss in this engagement. Needless to say heads will roll after this battle is over. The guns were destroyed but it is a sad day in England. Just 300 meters from victory. I thought i could depend on Capt. Rumely. Commander BritishForces. General Richard Forbes.

Our northern force have both there objectives but are still meeting heavy resistence. 2 zig 150,3 recon and 3 squads of FJ destoyed there.

Well the battle is over. All objectives are in our hands. The high command says this wasnt one of our finest moments. We managed to eke out a marginal victory. I say if you come out alive that is a victory. In our final push we lost a cruiser and a LRC Morris to 4 37MM ATGs. Our boys went crazy and took all four of them out in a suicide charge, wasnt pertty but very effective. Sir our losses are as follows:
Men 281 Artty 1 AFV 22 most in that mad rush to the objective.
The enemy are as follows: Men 880 Artty 20 mostly ATGs and AFV 16

We are packing up and moving on to Mechili To advance against the Italians there. Vis looks good about 1400 meters or so. May 1941 all ready. Must be beautiful back home in Manchester. Will i ever work in my garden again. Sorry sir my mind was wandering.

Commander British Forces North Africa: Sir Richard Forbes

Sir im a little confused here. Is Mechili in Egypt or North Africa. Can anyone help me on this. I know i should know where i am. But all my maps were taken when that infiltrator got into my HQ compound. I have not as yet recieved replacments for them.

Thank you for the promotion sir. I will not let you are the Empire down.
