The attached image is of the French Planning Map I produced for the start of the scenario 1809 Charles Plan.

The map is based upon the 1809 map supplied with the game to which I have added the opening French dispositions and depots using Game Mapper.

The Austrian army markers which appear note the location of Austrian forces according to French intelligence reports.

Each force marker has a note of the strength of the force it represents noted beneath it, whilst the depots note the amount of supplies stored at that location. Finally, though probably not visible due to the degree of compression there are faint light blue dotted lines marking the supply routes from the French HQ at Ulm to the outlying Corps and depots.

Though the image is quite blurred due to compression in fact Game Mapper allows the user to zoom in until one of the force markers almost fills the screen and so one is able to zoom in as required to study local situations.

Nice map and a good job.....coincidently, I recently discovered GameMapper and want to get the software but they only use paypal...I have to wait for paypal to verify my account before I can complete the transaction...from the demo, it looks like a very good program and your example shows one thing that can be done.....just wish they took a credit card without paypal...

It gets a bit finicky at times particularly when using a .BMP background such as the 1809 map.

Whilst I was preparing the example above it managed to lose the link a one point and the map dissappeared leaving me with just the unit counters on a white background. But as long as you remember to save regularly its not a major problem.

In fact the hardest bit was trying to adjust the map to fit into the forum posting.

Just trying it out now on a real campaign to see if it helps with planning.
