The graphics are very good indeed.

Anyone who loves 3d RTS will love it Im sure.

Does it also depend on how fast your graphics card is!?

I like RTS CC, EYSA, HTTR and all of them are in a WWII uniform. But I will pass on any of their RTS put out by that game co.

Hey Close Combat is THE rts in my eyes. Nothing Ive played comes close.
My PC jumped once or twice. 1.8xp 4200ti gerforce 512mb ddr.
The line of sight looks reasonable, far better than Blitz, howveer the action is closer than Blitz. The main problem I have with 3D is the control of view, and this is no better than most. IF this game had been WEGO RATHER THAN AN rts I would have told people to go and buy. The soldier graphics are to be honest superb.
All in all it is the best looking WW2 so called strategy game Ive seen. IF they bought out a game with the gameplay of Close Combat and this graphic engine I would be very impressed.

Figured ok a small demo of the game.
Nope, its a stupid memory flash game. No demo at all.
Am I just missing something?

Found the beast.
It's at 3d Gamers
http://www.3dgamers.com/games/panzers/#filelist
Sadly though, while looking I saw the ad for Sudden Strike III. I think I am going to puke.

Ok this is the end of it for me. Downloaded it, installed it, ran it, or rather tried.
My computer told me to get bent.
So, if your computer is not new, you might be wasting your time even caring if the game is any good.
But, what the heck, I am heaping it on the pile of demos I give out. Why not, I have Blitzkrieg on that pile.
But its a 210 meg file. Not small.
Graphics look nice, but a game is not just it's graphics.
Although, I refuse to expend space for Sudden Strike III when it comes out. There has to be a limit.

To be honest I can't figure out why the game companies don't get it. A turn based WWII game in 3D with great graphic would sell like hot cakes. But they all think if its 3D it has to be RT and if its turn base it has to be 2D.[:(]

They'd have to compete with Combat Mission and that's a tough benchmark for any lightweight development. Seems to me that dressing RTS up in WW2 uniforms is not being done to appeal to wargamers but to the Starcraft, C&C players.

Hasn't somebody already made a 3D turn based tactical level WWII game? I thought I played a demo of it once and it seemed ok. Is that what Combat Mission is? (mentioned above)

I just played the demo today after
an all night download.
From what I could see, the graphics looked awesome.
It could be a real graphics hog, though.
I have a RADEON9800 pro and one of the cut scenes seemed
to burp a few times. The cut scenes in this game are genned in
real time so a hesitation there is an indication of frame rate.
I don't know how good that card is now but it was top of the line like
6 months ago when I bought it and nothing has ever made it hesitate before.
Anyway, I just had a few minutes so I grabbed a tank and started
driving it to the destination and got ambushed. After a few shots back and
forth, my tank seemed to withdraw on its own and hide behind another building.
So I sent in my whole team to see what would happend and it was pretty cool to watch,
a couple guys sneaked behind a building and tagged the enemy tank with
a flamethrower at close range.
Had to run at that point but I liked what I saw so far. I would say it does kind
of look like a 3D rendered version of close combat but I won't compare it to that
game yet because that's my favorite RTS of all time by far.
I mean to its credit, it supposedly takes into account armor thickness, facing,
type of weapon etc. Buildings and vehicles can sustain variable amounts of
damage, they're not just destroyed.
Its not like Command and Conquer where your big glob of units hammers his
big glob of units till yours or his are gone.
At the very least it looks like a promising idea. But so did HOI... [:'(]

After playing through th tutorial I wouldnt say it ia like Close Combat at all.
It does play a bit better than most RTS. BUT it is still has typical RTS game mechanics.
However that said it works far better than SS and Blitz.
