You might want to read the chapter: orders and objectives (page 60 of the manual).
In that chapter terms like FUP, secure crossing etc are explained.

Maybe this forum could do with a stickied FAQ with questions like this?

I know it would help me, even though I've read the manual. The tips thread is good, but veers off on tangents sometimes and is a bit overwhelming for a total newbie. Maybe something a bit more bite-sized would be useful.

The best advice I can give is to pick a small scenario, set the orders delay to 'none' and play around. Save the game before issuing an order, choose various settings, issue the order, sit back and watch what happens. Then reload the savegame, change some of the settings, re-issue the order and note the changes. If you forget to save then with the orders delay set to none you can quickly change the order if everything goes pear shaped.

It took me a while to really 'get my head around' some of the options and the differences they make but I wouldn't say I'm anywhere near mastering the game. I read comments from experienced players as to the way they play the game and sometimes I think 'that's brilliant, how come I never realised I could do that'.

There's a folder in the game's directory called "manuals" click on that and welcome to PDF heaven [;)]

lunario,

If you give away your game to another person to play, then you also give away your license to the game and under the terms of the license you are not entitled to use our game. The common name for this is "pirating" and it is illegal. It is stealing from us. Don't do it. Just because you CAN does not mean you SHOULD.

Please either get back your original and ensure your friend uninstalls the game or go and buy another copy if you wish to continue getting any support on this forum.
