All I have to say on their T34 show is @#!$%^&*^%$&#!!!! It su#ked. Out os 60min's maybe 16 to 17 min was on the T34. The rest was bull on stalin and his generals. The Crew first hand accounts were good, I like them. I just thought there would be more on the tank and less on political Bulls&*^.
That is all. <img src="mad.gif" border="0"> <img src="mad.gif" border="0"> <img src="mad.gif" border="0"> <img src="mad.gif" border="0"> <img src="frown.gif" border="0">

I taped the show so I can at least fast forward thru the political crap to get to the important minutes about the T-34. I am thankful to the History Channel for giving us anything at all on the T-34.

9-1, I was hoping for more combat footage that russia is hording from the war, last reported there is one large vault of film, that no one has viewed since the war. The parts that they did show where pretty good, I did like the crew stories, esp. the machine gunners story about being ambushed in a small village by a Tiger and how he got the tank away. <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> <img src="redface.gif" border="0"> <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

Has anyone other than me seen the 4 tape set (think it was just four tapes) labelled
WWII Russia
Titles are Russian Front, Liberation of the Motherland, Liberation of Europe and Germany Surrenders.
Nothing special about the tapes other than they are Russian source material. I thought the stuff was nicely different in perspective.
I have also seen some materials that were done by Walter Cronkite, some of it being the eastern front portion of the war as well, very nicely done.
To comment on "political crap though", I have never really hated the inclusion of this sort of material. It is relevant to the time period in most cases. History that gets re written is no longer history after all. If you want mind numbing politics though, try watching "Why we fight" man the allied rhetoric is incredibly over done hehe.

I have nothing against history, Sarge, it is a subject that is not taught or studied too well in schools today. But, the show was supposed to be about the T-34 tank. When a 1 hour show is titled Battlefront-The T-34 tank I would like to see more than approx. 16 or 17 minutes on the vehicle. I have watched other shows about Stalin and his politics and enjoyed them greatly because that was what I was expecting. I was just a little peeved on this show because I expected more on the tank itself.
