Any trick to dropping the big one? My 29's have been sitting around for weeks while the pilots are examining their consciences. Three in the inventory now- though as a child of the 70's I do feel a bit squeamish about roating a city or two... good thing it's only a game! (Unless, of course, this is Ender's Game all over again...)

Cheers

hi:
do you have them set on atomic bomb mission? are they in range of the target you have them targeted on? maybe they are playing cards?.

The mission is AB (for the designated group). The 29's bomb the same target routinely using conventional weapons, so I guess they're in range. Interestingly, it doesn't look like any group at the base (the island just up (NW?) from Iwo Jima is attacking while one group has the AB mission- there are 4-5 B-29 groups at that base.

Anyway, I'm only a few VP's away from a win without using them- just need to capture a base or two down in Indonesia and I think they'll cave.

... rotten peacenik pilots- "Dr. Strangelove" will be showing 24/7 at the Officer's club!

Cheers

The bomber group that is assigned the atomic bomb mission should be the only air group at the base. Do not assign an air target to the base; the AB mission routine picks the target. If you're still not getting an attack, try a different bomber group, and/or a different base. I've found that some bomber groups don't seem to attack, but if I give the mission to a different group, I'll get an attack right away.

also, look at the rating of the group. If they are not 80+, that may have an effect. Find the ighest rated B-29 and ty that unut.

This sounds odd, but set the air group to night attack. I have had that spur an A-Bomb strike, not sure why.

Setting for night can make one heck of a lite show for the bomber. Maybe they liked the pretty lites ? [:-]
