PVP via IP

I have not followed the deveopment of this game. I quit playing because I cannot stand PBM, I prefer live gameplay. Did they ever get this game to where it is playable over the niternet via IP as they said they were planning when it 1st cam e out?
Internet play will be added after the initial release of the game.
