Since WiTp has gone gold, how long can can we wait to expect a new patch for Uncomman Valour.
Will we get a list of the bugs to be fixed?

It will be "a while". I wouldn't expect to see any sort of retrofit for UV, for at least 6 months, and maybe longer.

I certainly don't work for Matrix, but just from the discussion on the WitP boards, I'd wouldn't look for an upgrade to the UV engine for at least 6 months.

Here is a partial answer from Joel Billings in a WitP thread:

"...Next month after WitP has hit the streets we'll sit down and figure out what we can or can't do with UV vs WitP. My gut tells me that features will not be brought to UV as the time it would take to do it (if even possible)would make no sense for anyone interested in our games except those that will only own UV (and if there are many of those people in the world we won't be in business next year [:)] ). "

What should be next is WITM, or War in the Med. [:D]

I think UV is a fine game if they would/could patch it to get rid of the remaining bugs. I would rather not see them try to add features from WitP.

i think UV should be thought of as a finished game. There are too many games in development that come first. We must all live with the "bugs".

I`ll second that. From a business point of view it wouldn`t make financial sense to devote any more man hours to UV. I`m sure WITP will have it`s fair share of bugs to iron out. Besides UV may not be perfect but few PC games ever are and right now it`s still top of it`s class.

I would agree if they had to track the bugs down starting from gound zero. But, most ot the routines were used in WitP and they have indicated that they have found the source of the bugs, so a patch to fix those should be fairly easy. UV with its different hex size is a game of its own and I plan to continue to play PBEM games as long as I can find opponents. It would be a better experience if some ot the bugs were fixed.

I agree if it's possible and not too much trouble.

And there is no need to rush it either, since Matrix will have its hands full with WiTP.

There is no need for any new features, but fixing a few of the most obvious bugs would be very welcome. I would also like to see the ground combat balanced a bit more as in WiTP.

Since UV is a smaller game than WiTP, there is no reason why it still cannot generate income for Matrix for a long time to come.

Cheers!

I love this. A candid. Honest. Realistic answer. And from someone that develops software! What in the hell will they think of next! [:D]

oh, and I think he has hit the nail on the head. [8D]
