When the hospital stops working

I've sometimes noticed that my hospital seems to have stopped working. There are wounded soldiers there, but they're not getting any better.

If the hospital does stop working, it would be nice to get a message about it, with an explanation: "Hospital out of lemon-scented disposable towels", "Hospital accidentally destroyed by friendly fire", "Hospital in dispute with insurance company", etc.

Even if there is some kind of signal on the hospital counter (and I haven't seen one), the hospital counter is often at the bottom of a large stack, so it's not exactly conspicuous.

Should I rebuild the hospital in such cases? In the same place, or somewhere else?

From my experience it stops working when it runs out of supply.

Yes, this was the most likely explanation. I've been letting the program manage supply, so I expected it to supply the hospital as well as the troops, but apparently it doesn't: you have to transfer supplies manually to the hospital city. It took me a while to spot this because I sometimes put the hospital in the same place as the operations centre, in which case there's no problem.
