Now stop marching to the guns

When you've told a corps to "march to the guns", is there any way to tell it to stop doing so, or does it go on like that for the rest of the game?

Send it an order to not march to the guns and it will stop doing so, but only after it has received the orders which can take time depending on how far from Nap the unit is.

Thanks for the reply. I understand the process of sending orders in general. The problem is that there's a button called "To the Guns" that orders a corps to march to the guns, but there's no button "Not to the Guns" to order it to stop doing so. If I press the button again it merely seems to reinforce the original order, and it goes on marching to the guns.
Have I missed something obvious here?

After some experimentation I think I can answer my own question. Apparently the order to march to the guns has to be renewed every time you send orders, otherwise it lapses.
This is a bit weird and counter-intuitive -- normally I'd expect a unit to continue obeying an order until it's explicitly countermanded.
However, as long as I know how it works, I can use it.

From what I have seen there are two bottons, one which is not clickable, and one clickable on the right. The one on the left tells me that the unit is marching to the guns, and the one on the right is what you want the unit to do, ie is you dont click the one on the right, then the unit will stop marching to the guns.
