Fuel for TFs

OK, so when my TFs arrive at port they automatically refuel. I understand from the manual that refueling time may be varied due to the size of the port and fuel 'in stock'. But what I can't work out is when the fueling is finished. Each TF has its current fuel total in the top left highlighted in green but I can't see anywhere that says what the upper limit is or how much I'll need to get underway again.
I've sometimes left a TF in port until I've guessed its fully refueled and set sail only to find the fuel has turned red in no time at all! Please could somebody tell me where I can find the in-game info to know when my TF is fully refueled and how long it is going to take in port?
Also, if I attach a DD or some other ship to the TF which has a cargo supply of fuel will this be used to replenish at sea, or is replenishment only handled by AO,TK,AK etc?

Actually, from what I have seen in the game, fueling is always instanous when in port. Just click refuel and bam your full. Once you get used to the game you learn how much each class holds. There is an OOB on spookys website (look under the FAQ thread in this forum for a link) and that lists how much fuel ever ship class holds. The problem you may be running into with ships in the red is with short legged MSW and SC's and even more so with barges and PT boats. They just need to be refueled ever day or two. They will automatically refuel when needed from larger ships (BB's CA's, or even AK AP's) You can also refuel manually by clicking the replenish button on the TF screen. Be warned though fueling takes up Op points so if you fuel it reduces the amount the TF will move that turn... Also When doing underway replenshisments fueling is usally not complete, you can Click Replenishment 2 or more times to fully refuel at sea (if you have enough Op points) Basically any ship at sea can refuel any ship low on fuel, AO's and TK's just have the most fuel to do it with. Also the Ak's and AP's don't need to have fuel as cargo they will transfer it out of there own fuel bunkers, and don't worry because merchants in UV are unbelievibly long legged, I have never had a merchant run low. The main advantage to having a replenishment TF of AO's is that the AO's are fairly fast and won't fall too far behide a Warship TF. Yet since they aren't in the Combat TF they won't slow your BB's and Carriers down. They when the big boys get thirsty they can hook up and refuel. Just remember to add some escorts to the replenishment TF. Getting your oilers sunk can leave your CV TF rowing home!!
This comes in REAL handy with subs. UV had a rule added in one of the patches which deducts some of a subs fuel every time it is attacked by a plane. You can easily find yourself out of fuel in a sub and its can be a LONG way home at a hex a day. Just send another sub out to meet it and refuel.

Ships will refuel automatically when arriving in a friendly port but sometimes, depeding orders you give them, they won't, or it is possible they had no more enough operations points to refuel. You can check the TF and if the ships have allready used op points, they have refuelled as much as they could.

Only AO and TK may resplenish a ship at sea, but any ship may be refuelled by a ship larger than him (for example PT boats may be refueld by DD that may be refueld by cruisers that may be refueled by BB and CV). In this case, it's not the fuel cargo that is used but the fuel of the bigger ships.
Edited: and SS may refuel each other, rather useful to know as air attacks may eat their fuel rather quickly and then they have to paddle their way to return to base.

On the subject of fuel:
Do fuel and supplies arrive at Brisbane/Noumea/Truk at a steady rate all through the game?
i.e. Will I never run out and is it therefore a good idea to keep shipping fuel and supplies to other bases and the game will automatically replace the stock piles ad infinitum at Bris/Noum/Truk as the goodies are distributed out?

Brisbane, Noumea and Truk have get fuel and supply every turn - forget the exact amount but you don't have enough shipping to totally empty them in 1 turn - and they replenish each turn
