I think he might mean: "who wants a piece of me?" maybe too soon for takers.

Oh it's DEFINITELY too soon for takers... Least serious ones anyway. Rest of us are frothing like rabid dogs over a meal. LOL! Much as I profess at being a history nut and such, it's going to take time to learn and be ready to play...
That said however, when the time is right, I'll be open to a game. Assuming anyone is interested. [8D]

What's great about a new game coming out is that we are all newbies with the exception of the beta testers. Most of us are on a level playing field.

All of us are on a level playing field. We may know the mechanics, but when it really comes down to it, none of us have really had the time to get into in depth strategies yet do the the ever changing rules.
Perfect example of this was the complete rework of where everything was in PI from a resource standpoint. Camping in Manila used to be possible since it was a supply source. Not anymore [;)]

Perhaps true. but you have to admit Mr. Frag that you have read the manual and played the game to some extent and do have a headstart. What advantage that may convey has yet to be seen.

Having spent months inventing stupid things to do to try and break stuff deliberately, you might say I am actually further behind then you guys who have not had to play stupidly [:D]
Time will tell how quickly I can forget all the stupid things I have done and start getting it right for a change. [;)]

Right. My philosophy is that playing against the AI will only teach you bad habits. Habits that will get you killed against a human opponent (such was the situation with UV--no criticism intended). So, come on now! Who wants a piece of me when I am at my most inexperienced and vulnerable?!? How about a nice small-map warm-up scenario!?! All those people I flogged at UV, here's your chance on a more even playing field!!

Not necessarily. Admittedly it's hard for an AI to match up to human standards in almost every case, but overall they've improved immeasurably in the last few years on most wargames. I like to get the feel for a game against the AI and then jump out to game others...
In addition to that, in the absense of other players having a solid AI makes for an enjoyable singleplayer game to fall back to.

I will play you again but I also won't have my game for a week also.
If anybody wants a good teacher in flogging this is the guy to play.
I would be more than happy to see if you can take San Fran from me.

It doesn't matter how much alpha/beta testing I do, the result is still the same - I suck.
