My thinking it would give us a place to duck into real quickly (at Work[:D]) and get the latest offical word without hunting for a offical post through all the speculation and rumor and it would avoid confusion about truth vs rumor.

Eric should start his own thread for each update so we dont all have to read everything every half hour

It wouldnt have worked. Unless the admins locked the thread it would get swamped within minutes with inquiries and questions from the forum users.

Net result, yet another totally messed up thread, in where you have to hunt for answers [:)]

Erik could do lots of things, but I think most of us would prefer he works on getting the DD available instead of wasting time telling us he's stopped working on the DD to tell us the obvious [:D]

I agree about the postings: I would have assumed that it would be locked. Put a stickied, locked post up and then you could defeat the rumor threads.

The Thread should be locked to posters except for Matrix staff that way you could start your oun thread to your hearts content for questions and speculation but the offical thread would only have offical posts.

I have to slightly disagree. While we all want the problem solved, stopping disinformation is really quite important. Ihave read the phrase "do you want us to release the game or post on the forum?" so many times that I get a little annoyed when I see it anymore. If the 3-5 minutes it takes to keep the crowd in check and the customers informed about the reality of the situation is going to delay the release of the game that day, then IMHO things are more seriously screwed up then people are letting on.

None of this is a slam on Matrix, just pointing out that occasional updates in a clear and official thread to me help more than they hurt.

That was my exact thought instead of having to drop in here to quelch bad rumors there could be 1 thread that has the latest word that only has official posts that we can all look at and the rest of the When will it be released posts can be ignored by all (except a kind soul who could point the poster to the official thread.)

I don't see any disinformation. All I see is a simple request to eliminate disinformation and rumor on the board by having an official place for Matrix to post the latest news so that anyone can see quickly what the latest word is without wading thru a lot of BS.

For everyone involved with WITP we thank you for you efforts.

MR Frag I did not understand your Disinformation comment. I thought I had made a simple and from the # of IS it ready yet type treads useful request that a large number of forum members would like to see.

Nah, you spend 'thousands' of hours doing it because you get a free copy and you get to play a game you enjoy prior to it's release.
