Brittish light-vechiles seem to leave no "destroyed graffic", they just dissapear when destroyed, but leave a "burning graffic" (the smoke on destroyed tanks etc..). I havent tested other scenarios but it happened atleast in one (cant remember wich).

I found a new bug in 8.2. While playing the scenario "Rough Rescue" #14, my marine F-4U's do not function. I get a message that the aircraft is attacking, but it never appears or attacks. I tried going into the editor and deleting the present f-4U's and repurchasing them. However, the same thing happens.

Apparently this is a feature and not a bug. It seems that if the aircraft can't find a target it does not appear instead of just flying over the map like it used to do when it couldn't find a target. I tried again and targeted a hex with a mortar. This time the F4U appeared and attacked the mortar.

Rough Rescue indeed! One of the toughest fights I designed. I've played it many times and don't usually do that well.
Were you able to effect a rescue, JimPY?

Dear Wild Bill;
Yes the crews got away at the cost of most of the rest of my force. It would have helped if the F4U's would agree to attack the enemy infantry instead of some mortar or cave. They acted like air force, not marines.

Jim, the planes will invariably go after the highest value targets. SPWaW is shaky when it goes into ground support ops--that hasn't changed. For air drops and transport, it's pretty good. These things can't be changed--in my games, I don't buy air support--I rely on off-board arty for ground ops and naval support if it's an amphib operation.
