Same plane

Greetings,
I noticed how in the demo (still playing it) all objects in Space are placed on the same plane. They take no advantage of the 3rd dimension.
Just wondering: is it the same in the retail version too?

P.S.= Since the retail version has now been released (btw --Milo: congrats!) can you please tell me in what is different from the demo (demo was from February, correct?)?
I'm not asking for spoilers -of course-, I'd just like to know about major changes.

- More ships
- Cooler ships (Cruisers, fortresses, Hot XXX Email Teens)
- Better Mod support
- Several more single missions
- Three more complete dynamic campaigns and the complete version of Operation Highland.

Hmm I think everything is still sitting close to a level plane, at least what I've seen so far.
I don't mind though, if you throw things high above or far below each other they just take longer to get to. The only stuff you'd place like that are secret bases and such.
Of course ships are free to move about wherever they want.

More of everything. Straight off the bat as a new career in highland you get to see a cruiser sitting around and you get to fly a new bomber class ship which IMO is awesome
From what I understand there is heaps more still to be discovered
