Need A little More mission discriptions

I love the game and am only having one problem that is mostly in my skills as a bad player, but partly due to the dynamic campain system. As I progress later into the game I am finding that more and more I will be on a fighter sweep or a routine patrol and bam!!! I run in to 2-4 enemy friagetes or destroyers. Now this is a problem, especially when you only have dinky missle and NO SUPPORT and have no ship killers on board becasue there where not supposed to be any in the area. I suggest for a little fix like telling use if there are large # of enemy Capital ship or at least Destroyer size, or maybe not allowing enemy friagets to travel at the same speed as you while you try to run out of the hunder thousand missle launchings at once, or hell at least give me more decoys?
I love this game so please do not take this as a rant just a suggestion

Minefields are pretty tame if you bring the right mix of weapons. Rockets are great for these. Send your wingmen on ahead and notice how far out they lob off a quartet. It is well outside the engagement range of the mines guns. You can kill an entire minefield all by yourself with a little careful aiming.

Best idea is to just run away. The frigates can move at a fair clip, but can't reach nearly the same speeds as a fighter.

I can picture the scene, lol. Facing a foe you are no match for!
See if you like my tip: stay away from them as much as you can.
If you can't win, at least avoid to be killed.
Better make a RTB and fail the mission, but preserving both life and fighter(s), rather than failing anyway AND losing life and fighter(s).

Ciao [:)]

One of the briefing screens has a list of enemy ships that are known to be operating in the area. The time-skip option should probably drop you further from the enemy if you haven't detected them though.

If I Get even within a little bit of my missle range I CAN NEVER OUT RUN THEM!!! and they shoot missles at an extrodinary rate!

That is what it was like last night, today I just kinda tried the move: If I am Move really slowly maybe they won't notice me slip out the back!

Yes, stay more than 50 km away from frigates unless you have the means to destroy them quickly. They're tougher than AEGIS cruisers. [:D]

Rytal: Use after burners to get up to high rates of speed quickly, then shut them off so the missiles have a harder time tracking you. Don't dump decoys while you are after burning, they wont work well anyways.

If you're using the standard flight mode, do a quick turn away from the frigate, hit the afterburners for a few seconds, then drop decoys and cut your ecom level so you're putting out less of a signature. That might work, I haven't tried it personally because I've yet to be in that situation.

While fleeing, I tend to use a lot of lateral thrusters to throw off gun and missile solutions for my pursuers. No, it doesn't work terribly well, but it helps a little.

You don't have to win every mission to succeed, and you shouldn't really expect to do so, either.

Or activate nav map and drag nav points to safer locations.

Best idea is to just run away. The frigates can move at a fair clip, but can't reach nearly the same speeds as a fighter.

They can catch a bomber though...

I Dropped out of auto-pilot to find one frigate (Lovo) 50k ahead, and our target (Udel) ~100k off to the left.
Bomber wing turns and burns towards Udel whilst dodging interceptor missiles.

We catch up to Udel, blow it apart and what do I hear? My turret and point defence guns going off.

Swing round and here's Lovo cruising along right behind me, still focussed on one of my wingmen ;)

That was a rather scary sight to say the least!

In situations like that I ignore my orders and take out the more dangerous target. You can always go back for the Udel later. [:)]

Mehrunes - Wise decision.

Remember the old saying? No plan survives contact with the enemy. Do what you have to do in order to survive and win. Headquarters will work around the problem if you manage to kill the wrong enemy on the wrong mission.
