From first turn in Einewetok, I cannot create any task force with the Auto-Select option turned on. Keep getting the message "Not enough ships of the proper type". This occurs even with the whole Allied fleet in port on first attempt.

Also noticed that it seems to affect the Japanese under certain circumstances. Still trying to identify the correct symptoms.

Edit note: Maybe I just don't know how this feature works. Still trying to digest the manual. [:D]

Thats correct, it is telling you that there are not enough ships of the correct type to form a task force of the type you asked for. Choose manual instead and make it yourself.

New observation. I don't think this is working as intended after all. I have 6 SS in Eniwetok. I go to create a Sub Attack TF and choose auto select. "No ships of the proper type can be found". Are we sure there isn't something lurking in the code?

Note also, this only occurs AFTER I've processed turn 1. During turn 1 orders, I can auto create TFs with abandon. Also, 20+ PTs in the same port, after turn 1 I can't auto pop a PT TF for the same reason.

In SCEN 6 as US player with more than 50 plus tankers (TK) and oiler (AO) cannot auto create TF -
