Bug & Possible new feature

A) I just restarted, and my first mission in Trellis I choose to take out Minefield C (I also took out B while I was out there). When I got back I had intel that said the Gerrond squad ahd taken out Minefield A but I can choose that for a mission and the theatre map still lists Minefield A.

B) Would it be possible to throw in a negative sign if we're flying in the opposite direction than the ship is facing when FLCS is on auto? Sometimes I forget that when I make a quick turn around, my nose is all that's being moved, I've still got inertia moving me the other way. It's no so bad when going to a nav point, but when facing an enemy, I sometimes focus too much on staying alive and less so much on the fact that even though it says I'm going "222" I'm actually going "-222" (in my mind).

Edit:
Something I forgot, when I tell my wingman to "Break & Attack" he'll just keep doing circles unless the enemy gets really close (gun range). Also when I tell him to "Attack My Target", he doesn't attack MY target, but another out of the same group. Finally, is is possible to tell a wingman to "Return to Base" on the mission? Whenever I've tried away from the Archon he won't do it, but it'd be nice to have that in case he gets really damaged up, so I don't risk him in any future engagements before the mission is over with.

Edit of the Edit:
Okay, I just went back to playing, and this time I was going to strike against Udel, but for some reason instead of hitting Alt+A, I hit Alt+R, and my Thunderbolts returned to base, yet the very mission before that when my Stormhawk wingman got seriously damaged by mine fire, he wouldn't respond to Alt+R until I was at my final nav near Archon.

Also, after the Udel mission I took on a shuttle escrot, and it crashed into the Archon when trying to land. For some reason it came in a really odd angle, and just impacted right underneath the docking bay entrance. My wingman and I weren't in the way and the carrier wasn't moving so it shouldn't have been a problem going in the normal glide path like my wingman do when I tell them to return to base, any reason why it wouldn't do that? Also, do we get to fly the LCAs at some point?

Your wingmen don't seem to send a response to you when you order them back to base, but they should head back there and you car hear their radio traffic when they call inbound. They might not be able to return if they're under fire or damaged.

If you turn on space dust that can help give you a frame of reference when you're in the cockpit view.

Thanks didn't even think about the space dust option.

Another quick question, under the forces listing when choosing a mission, you can select on the squadron and it will give you stats for that squadron. I also see the sorties listed correctly, but no one has any kills (despite 48 sorties, of which I added several kills to the list) and the I've only got one squadron with any kind of effeciency rating. What does that mean? (I know it can't my contribution, because I've flown in all three Alliance squadrons)

Check the number of mines it shows, I flew a mission vs. Minefield A and dropped out of autopilot somewhere near C. One very confused wingman, a couple of dead mines and a smashed up bomber later and we returned to the carrier.

Upon returning I was kindly informed that the DESRON went out to have a go at Minefield A and had 'destroyed' it.
Turns out that they destroyed 1 whole mine :)

Mind you a single destroyer is capable of clearing out the entire field in the hands of a human (the AI is a little too agressive and gets into range of the mines weapons, and then proceeds to blow up).

Finally figured this one out (I think). The game was not properly recording stats for fighters launched from a flight deck or runway during a mission. It was only tracking the stats for ships that are created already "in flight".

Having said that, I'm further puzzled by your description. In my case, I wasn't seeing any record of sorties launched from deck. Sorties, kills, efficiency rating, and campaign score contributions were all zero. I can't see a way that the game would credit your squadron with flying a sortie, but not with any of the kills generated during the sortie.

I don't know why, but I'm finding that my second time through I'm not facing the problems I had before. For example, now all the stats and figures for kills, sorties, etc... (for by my squad and my allies) are working just fine, whereas they didn't work my first time through the campaign. The same thing with medal awards, I'm getting a ton of medals now when my first time through the campaigns (actually I haven't played the last one yet) all I ever got was the equivalent to the Purple Heart (can't remember the name).

FYI yesterday during an escort shuttle mission, the shuttle collided with the side of the carrier bay just a described in this thread. Definitely some sort of pathfinding problem.

The vast majority of the time, there will be no collisions if you are level, not changing direction, and at zero speed. Exceptions exist if something is blocking an approach point extensively.

Side note: Currently, you don't even *want* fighters to land, as the campaign system counts them as dead... [X(]

That's the only one I have won [:D] . Getting killed twice doesn't seem to win a bar though.
