Whats the best way to take singapore or malaya as the japs?
A naval invasion? Or inland invasion?
Does singapore have good costal defensives?
Is it worth fighting from inland from malaya, and making ur troops do alot of marching, they be too tired to fight in the end right?
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Singapore has very strong defenses... at least those pointing towards the sea. Do it the historical way, overland. The CD Units will probably hurt an invasion force quite badly. Not worth risking your ships since it isn't necessary.

Load up everything you have onto ships and sail into the harbour.
Whoops, that was me testing CD guns ... ignore that advice [X(]

Thats what I thought, what about the ground troops fatigue during land movement, I know that moving troops over land in UV makes them totally worthless, is it different in WitP, any ideas how long you need to rest ur men, i.e keep them on defensive, to bring their fatigue back to combat rdy?

You don't have to send them in overland, just LET them land by sea. There will be plenty of time to rest while you fight yourself down the peninsula.

Watch Fatigue and Disruption.
You REALLY NEED TO LEARN these two and how long things take to recover. You will notice a large difference in these values based on a successful attack vs a not so successful attack.
The code was tuned to slow down land combat greatly. Watching these values and learning the effects is VERY IMPORTANT to understanding how to win.

Also keep in mind that Singapore didn't fall (historically) until February 15th, 10 weeks after the start of the war. Your IJA divisions can come screaming down the Malay Penensula in the first week of the campaign (when all they're doing is over-running the baseforces at Victoria Point and Georetown). But several of the Allied Malay defenders do -not- suck (esp the Aussie Brigades).
But my point is that, historically, the IJA had to grind down the defenders at Singapore, so don't be surprised if you had to also. Unfortunately, there isn't really any more hope for them in WitP, that there was in real life either (as your land based air can clobber any attempts resupply them from India).
Nothing wrong with bottle 'em them up tho. It's not like they're going anywhere. They're not going to fight their way back up the penensula to "escape" to Burma (because they're already cut off). It would be suicide to send transports to resupply or evacuate them to either India or Australia. So just starve 'em out, they're not hurting anything.
