AUTO Function...

" Naturally I decided to take care of this one myself. I moved my little nav point over and unpaused the game while clicking auto. Proof I appear right behind it athenas and graisers blasing. The carrier makes a good impression of being suprised and starts trying to disgorge flighters which my PD systems turn into confetti. " - spacerat's AAR

As far as I understand from that and from my own experiences in the demo, AUTO function works as a teleporter instead of a time accelerator. In effect, it becomes possible to artifically cut the distance between you and your enemy, without having to wade through the incoming fire at long ranges. This seems to be a particularly dangerous semi-exploit with carriers, whose main weapon -- fighters -- take an awful lot of time to deploy. Perhaps this issue could be looked at in the first/second update? I suppose it wouldn't be impossible to make AUTO work as a 50x time accelerator (as opposed to an instant teleporter) that would cease working once you get any red blips on your radar.

It'd be nice if time skip would calculate your range to enemy ships as it's moving everything about and dropped you out of it if you come within 100km of one.

Someone might got an idea to turn radar off. Or radar could be damaged.

I agree with Alexander. Sometimes the AUTO function also does the opposite, when it drops the player ship right into the middle of a group of enemy fighters. All in all, this function could use some finetuning.

Only missions I really use the AUTO for is patrols... or to get to NAV 1 on a 2 point assult pattern.

Doing for example mine clearing with AUTO nav is suicide.

It seems as an exploit more useful to capital ships. It's in turn a pure disaster for a fighter if you forget to adjust the navpoints (which your superiors manage to place exactly at the spot where the enemy ships are located).
