Possible bug? Air transfer w/out baseforce

I noticed the other day that you can fly aircraft to, and from bases without any air support points. I'm not talking about missions. I'm just talking about staging the aircraft from base to base.
I assumed you had to have air support points to fly out of a base, but evidently not. I'm not sure if this is a bug. I don't know of a pilot who doesn't know how to refuel his own plane, so just landing, landing, refueling, and leaving the next day I guess would be do-able without air support points. I suppose if you flew a squadron into the field, and some were damaged from ops losses, those would never be repaired because of the lack of the air support points.
But it's interesting to know that you can stage thru a base, I didn't know that.

Yes you can do this. Aviation support points are only required to REPAIR damaged aircraft. Nothing else, so you can in fact run an airbase without them. Not a good idea of course ...

On the wish list for patch ...
Current fomula checks for airbase when shuffling aircraft. It needs to check airbase + AV support.

Hmm I'm not sure about that. What about if you want to send some floatplanes to a far outpost with a view to despatching an AV later? Or sending planes to that base you just captured because you know the base force is on the next convoy in?
P.S. Frag do you experience any delay when exiting the Form TF screen?

Thats up to YOU, the computer part simply attempts to join fragments to the parent. It has no impact.

Has anyone run into a situation where they had more a/c than support at a base when the offending a/c were seaplanes and there was an AV that added the right amount of air suuport to cover those seaplanes? I recall this happening in UV (Tulagi in my latest campaign), and haven't played enough WitP yet to see it happening.

Whenever you have an AV unit at a base its support is always listed separately like below..
Aviation support: 200 + 11
Means the units on the ground are providing 200 points of support and the ships in port are providing 11 for seaplanes.

I think Feinder was talking about the initial manual transfer, which is what I followed up on.
I now have re-read and understand that Mr Frag was talking about the subsequent automatic transfers. BTW I love the way these work now compared to UV. You're really going to have to work to keep the frontline air units in shape.
