The day after Pearl Harbor

Is it any practical use to stay on station December 8th and hit with a follow up raid?
There is always the chance of picking up some minor ships that matter, especially the mine sweeper/layers ships. No need to hit the runway again. Any US CV force is really anemic when divided. I'm not sure the AI even unites the USN CVs for a concerted counter attack at Pearl.
Then again, there are some really goodies to get to in the PI area with your CVs.
What say you?

I tried it two ways last night:
1. Contiune the port attacks and use VFs on Sweeps and minimal escort.
The result was damage to port bound ships, not much different than the first strike in intensity. Same for airbase hits.
-------------------
Next, I ran it again, but this time switched the fleet to conduct anti-naval operations.
This caught a rather large group of light forces near Pearl, at sea. I caught two MLs, a few DMS, some DDs, and APDs and sank them.
On the other side of Pearl, we sent a strike or two to hit some transports coming in. Sank or severly damaged them.
---------------------
Now, it's day three - what do I do now? Hang artound Pearl and scrap some more?
Move towards the west coast, and raid shipping?
Head towards PI an NEI and support a vast accelerated conquest of the area?
For example, I am thinking of doing a 'Torch' like operation - sending a massive invasion force to take out Balikipan and then Java/Sumatra way ahead of schedule. Escorted by the Jap Fast Carriers, it should do quite well.

Remember you are losing 40-50 aircraft with each strike, and that INCLUDES valuable pilots. Doing that to sink some MSW's, DDs, etc....

Wow, this is paying off in spades.
First off, yes sinking mine sweepers/layers is worth it...and the ack is minimal with these ships.
But the best part is if you wait three days, and part yourself to the NE of Pearl, the BBs come streaming home. I've sunk three of them! And you are getting the one's with the least damage from the day of infamy. So it is well worth it. The US CVs have moved on and now ignore me.
Difficulty setting is historical.
