PBEM Options Changing

When starting a pbem game (15) I set the agreed options (historical 1st turn) save and send to the allied player. My assumption is that the options should be set and nothing the allied player can do will change this. It appears however, the allied player has managed to set "vary setup", even though selected off by japan. He also reset the cycle to 1 day from 3. How can this be happening? We are both on the latest patch.
Also, after loading a pbem turn, all realism options are set to all off, regardless of what is in the save game. Anyone else seeing this? It is driving me crazy. [X(]

Known bug, options are not being locked resulting in some serious problems. Being worked on.

Is this bug more than a 'display' problem as to what options are/were selected? If so, is there a work around - like resetting everything each time you load the game to do a move? Or are we dead in the water?

Yes, it is more than just a display issue, in fact, all the allied bb's moved out of pearl as a result of vary setup being set by the allied player on turn 1 (even after the japanese player had set it off initially).
As for a work-around, I *think* if you reset the options (and cycle length) *every time* before you open the move you will be ok.
This game shows a lot of promise but how could a bug like this ship?! $75 is pretty steep for an pre-alpha release of a game.
