at first it says 9116/8000. then i will click on some units and look at them and order them to march somewhere and then the number will be completely different. shouldnt this number only change if my units actually leave manchuko.
yep its confirmed. if i just march around any units in manchuko inside manchuko my current garrison points fall every time i order a unit somewhere and then check the intelligence screen.

I believe the Assault Strength of a unit (which is what the garrison is based on) changes according to is disruption, fatigue and men / equipment in it. So a worn out unit is nowhere near as worthwhile as a fresh unit.

yes i know. but this happens during turn one before i have hit the turn button and anything has moved. try it yourself. start a new game. look at the current garrison points in the intel screen and note how many. then go click on a base hex with infantry. pass your mouse over the infantry icon at the bottom of the screen to see its assault value. then actually click on the unit to pull up its detail screen and note how the assault value automatically changes. (another bug) then order the unit to move anywhere. then go back to the intel screen and notice how the garrison points changed automatically. (another bug) i have lowered my current garrison points by hundreds doing this. so it is essentially a bug.

Wow! In our business we call that a "good catch"!

Don't forget a lot of those units start with a lot of disabled squads and equipment. These repair over time and will increase the assault strength - they are not replacements, just wounded men / equipment getting fixed and healed.

Actually this seems to be a detriment to the japanese player. Its not the requirments that go down but the actual points i have in manchuko. Everytime i order a unit to go anywhere even inside Manchuko my current points fall. It means I cannot move as many units out of manchuko that I really could without the bug.

Actually most mongolian cavalry units are not under Kwantung army command. I also moved them out to China. Do they still count as the Manchukuo garrison?

I also try to get there but on the way there are so many Chinese troops that I don't have a hope to get there soon (I am a lousy commander

). Other thing is that after a siege some of it can be damaged so maybe the costs of the offensive will be higher than a reward.

yes apparently any unit in the northwest zone counts. so i guess those that are not in the northwest zone do not count
