Hopefully the first alpha version of my mod will be downloadable within a week.

What is your mod about? Does it have WWW site yet?

Currently what I need to still do is set up a mail server (for registrations to work), add content to the site, create freighters, one more cap ships and missions. When that is done the alpha will be released and its Wing Commander.

the b5 has some 30 ships in it already, but I wouldnt say its ready for release.

Im not adding many ships. I want to set up the ballance ball park first with a few ships.

I have what I think is a semi decent ballpark to add ships into now (on realistic physics only, atm) but not untill its tested by more people then me and that ballance is solidified will I add more ships.

Adding ships is very easy and it only takes me about 20 min to get them added BUT ballancing and altering the def files is what takes time. I dont have unlimmited time resources so its gonna be few ships first and that adding more.

I wount spoil the fun by releaseing the ships but there are 5 fighters atm and 2 cap ships plus some extra content inorder to be able to run good missions with this setup.

What WC era is it? Sounds like WC3 but i could be mistaken. I dont remember there being ion/tachyon guns before then.

After WC4 and before WCP.

At least the alpha version is.

Basicly this is due to there beeing much better community created meshes for this era. I dont have the skill or time to do the modelling for the old ships.

Though I would love to be able to recreate historical WC battles but for that I first have to generate interest in the mod by showing its there and its not just talk inorder to get artists interested. Part of the reason for an alpha as well.

Personally, i think WC2 era (including privateer, academy, armada (though i never got to play it) is my favorite. But thats cool too.

If you can or feel like retexturing the WC 2 models Ive got the meshes.

mods community mods... are.. for lack of a better term, horrible, made by beginners and as such have tons of errors in them.

Its easyer to learn to do it on your own, and since wc models are SO basic simple box modeling could build any ship

Yes but models for such as WC and Star Wars have beend one over and over and over again. Sometimes there really isn't a point in doing the models yourself, especially if other people have done them better than you can.

But ya, I guess there would be a ton of models for wc and starwars for sure! the only real b5 ones I"ve ever seen were some really really old ones for some homeworld project. and some uber high poly ones.

got any links to these models? Iw oudlnt mind seeing them, its been SO long since Ive seen anything wc, I have some fond memories of that game.... so great.... ss could make SUCH an amazing wc game, soy ou better not screw up this conversion!!! *shakes fist*

ya know if you REALLY want I can alwasy whip one out really fast lol, wc ships are beyond easy to do lol
