FOW and sub spotting, or 'Hey look I found a really small BB!'

Hi,
I had a rather amusing few turns yesterday when some drunken aussie pilots reported spotting a BB, some CA's and various transports off the coast of australia.

Funny thing is they all had little sub icons, so I knew what they were, and the ASW TF (or what was left of it after those subs stuck torps into a couple of DD's) nearby proceeded to chase them around without any 18" guns shooting back :)

I'm not sure what a small, narrow sub looks like from way up in the air, though I suspect its rather hard to confuse it with something as large as a BB.

However to make life interesting could we get spotted subs reported as something other than a sub to show up as a TF instead?

That way we can watch people panic when nasty things seem to appear in places they aren't expected ;)

That makes sense. IIRC, a B-17 once accidentally bombed a surfaced US submarine. The sub crash-dived to get away, and the B-17 crew reported that they had sunk a Japanese heavy cruiser. Not quite a battleship, but still . . .

Now that's pretty cool, though I wouldn't go so far as applying FOW to your own side :)

Just having the reportings turn from sub icons into TF icons with a single ID'd (as non-SS) ship would make things very interesting.
