First of all I want to thank you milo, and the staff at destroyer studios for putting life back in the space-sim genre, as well as having the courage to try something a bit different. I just purchased your game by dialup and it was worth the three day wait and the phone bill.
I was wondering do you have any intention of making a speech pack for the game at a later date? A small thing I know, but it would give the game an even more immersive feel. Anyway congratulations I hope this isn't the last game you guys produce!

I would love to see the same thing. However given the moddability and modularity of the sim, would it be possible to create our own voice package and upload it. I recall an ATC program for MSFS that allowed the same thing using WAV files, with one WAV file for each word/number/phrase.

This way, we could hear our own voice if we so choose, and we can get a variety of different voices for wingmen and capships.

As an intermediate step, even if there's not a full voice pack, it would be nice to have some audio feedback, even if it were only a staticy "roger" in response to radio orders, just as a bit of extra feedback (and immersion).

It's just so _quiet_ when you say break and attack...[;)]

It seems that all the audio is done with Ogg Vorbis files... (.ogg extension)

A very nice compressible format that I use for dvd backups and some of my home audio collection...

Hopefully there will be some way to cue .ogg files to radio commands in the mods... would be absolutely killer and shouldn't take up too much filespace at all....
