Disbanding an air group is only allowed when another squadron from the same nation and aircraft type is present. So all aircraft and pilots transfer to that group. This keeps players from magically dumping a squadron that might be trapped somewhere from telaporting to the pool to be used elsewhere.

You have the option of reforming the group as a reinforcement later or completely getting rid of the group.
