Computer control transport TF get lost?

I've mentioned this elsewhere before but I'm now sure it is a bug. In the Guadalcanal scenario, some allied computer-controlled transport TFs end up in Rabaul while having Port Moresby as DH (I play the allied side vs computer). I could post the printscreen of it if asked.

Sure wasn't using Rabaul as a stop on its way to Pt moresby?

Solomons has shallows, the slot, etc so its not that simple travising it, Rabaul is at a pont that you can go from and enter open sea, did it stop there and stay there or go on from there?

While playing scenario 8 - First year:
I have had a similiar thing happen with the Automatic Convoys.
A Allied auto-convoy ( 5AKs, 1MSW) will start in Karachi and have a destination of say Palembang(20,55) ... with a refuelling stop-over at PEARL HARBOUR [cargo status: fuel at Pearl Harbour]. The convoy actually tries to get to Pearl Harbour, happily passing within several hexes of it's end destination (Palembang), and then getting pelted by every Japanese base it passes on the way to PH. I don't believe it has run out of endurance - they still green by the time it passes the turn off for Palembang
I had noticed a like circumstance with UV. A AI convoy will start from the Brisbane and try to supply a base on the other side of the map - the base is much closer to Noumea. I would have thought that convoy base should try to supply the nearest bases in the same Theatre of Operations before it would venture into another Theatre.
It is a nuisance because now I keep checking my auto-convoys in case one goes of the rails.
I have only noticed this problem with Karachi based convoys.

Unfortunately no, I do not save on every turn, I do have a save of several turns before but that won't be useful I guess. What I haven't said in my post is that Rabaul was a Japanese (enemy) base when the TF headed towards it (I wish I could have invaded Rabaul, it wins you 1200 VPs!!).

If you see something like that happen again, save it and send it in
