Buildings don't display deathspiral explosions...

Do any ground objects display the non-final explosions right? [&:]
edit: Actually, it seems to be anything that's in direct contact with the ground, including LCA's.

I recall the debris and everything being on the ground when I was fiddling with battletech in Beta. I can't say I recall if the deathspiral ever executed, but I know the Debris did. I think that's on purpose, though, so fighters don't spin around on the ground before exploding.
Hm. Just tested. No deathspiral. I still think flaming debris on the ground looks awesome though.
Hmm... maybe a parameter would do for it? groundspiral:true or something.

It's probably to do with the smoke floating up for ground explosions. I might be able to hover an LCA just above the ground to get around it, and with any luck the crater debris will sit nicely where it's supposed to.
