There was a 2-ep miniseries remake but I don't know if they actually are/were going to remake a series.

I seem to recall some Galactica stuff for SS being discussed recently. I think all the models are easily found. IMO this should be a relatively easy Mod to make, a limited number of units with lots of readily available info.
I'm looking forward to seeing something.

ya
but it has to be high quality! to match the show cause i'm gonna rip those models apart if they are not hehehe
That new galactica could be annoying, very little refernce and its very texture intensive

Just as long as nobody models the "all fighters attached to the network go down at the most inopportune time" feature...[:D][:D]

Oh, and I almost forgot...
Make sure there's no poly limit on the blonde Cylon model...[:D]

Haha
You know, actually Starshatter could have some interesting modeling of that. There are two flight modes, manual and auto. The benefit of auto (in Realistic flight mode) is that thrusters automatically thrust to keep your vector the same as your heading, or nearly so. It can be a convenient feature, so it would be interesting if some (enemy) fighters were equipped with EMP weaponry that would toast the computers on the target ship. On a capital ship this would have the effect of forcing you to switch away from Helm mode to maintain control...
Anyways, could be interesting.

A very interesting proposition indeed!
I was originally, in fact, referring to the (IMHO) cheesy plot device in the mini-series, where the Colonials had developed an integrated space armada but the concept of a firewall eluded them...
However, forcing people to manual flight control would be way cool, especially for multiplayer dogfights. An EMP burst weapon would make it a viable tactic versus an entire package rather than a gimmick missile against a single target.
The EMP could also play havoc with any missile's targeting systems, making for gunzo battles within the cloud.
Hmmmm...

hell ya that would work
you could emp a ship and it would be really up crap creek
good weapon for the evil guys
I have not used emp or leech weapons yet in the b5 mod
emp burst eh..... sounds interesting
ya they were very..... american, in their approach to that system, the whole, lets let some coropration have direct access to our entire military and hope the dont sell out(not total by choice I guess) to our enemy

The real problem with it...
The AI isn't smart enough to switch. They'd tumble uncontrollably until the subsystem is repaired.. That's not as bad as it sounds, though.
Actually I am completely uncertain how it'd work for fighters. I think milo has near-absolute protection on fighter flight control systems so itll need to be tested.

I'm not sure the issue is so much wheter the AI can switch flight modes as whether the AI can fly in manual mode.
If the AI is capable of manual mode, but incapable of switching, it can still be forced into the manual mode if the ship gracefully degrades to manual mode at the time of the EMP blast.
I figure modding the ship for the default switch to manual is easier than reprogramming AI.

I've been flirting with the idea of doing a mod and playing around with Starbuck's models, but anything that I do will probably be based on the 70's Battlestar. Cheesy as the original series might have been, Starbuck was at least a guy.

Trailers/Teasers
Can anyone point me to a trailer or teaser? I can't find one.

As much as I disliked the female Starbuck in the remake, they made her cool enough that I could stomach it. Making Boomer a female and a trash hauler was uncalled for. Making her a Cylon went WAY too far.[:@][:@]
