Annoying Bugs found

OK, been playing since I got it and have run into a few issues that I'm not sure if anybody else has seen but I'll cover again just in case.

1) Torpedeo attacks being carried out from 13,000ft and succeeding! I can take a few bombs hitting from that height but a torpedeo? Please........

2) Singapore coastal defences moving to Johore Bhahru when Japs
thrown out of Singapore. Now no way to get them back. I didn't like the idea of just letting the boys die under Jap pressure in Malaya and so I re-inforced with everything in India that could point a gun. IT WORKED!!! I got forced back into Singapore but held out and then pushed the Japs back to J.B. with a shock attack and pursue. Thats fine, every man and his dog follows them including however, the coastal guns, 15 inch's and all!!! Please no jokes about going out your 15 inch in tow.... Now however I've no way of getting the guns back to Singapore as they can't move. I guess this will be the same for all coastal guns that can't move and will require a restart of my game once a patch comes out.

3) Transfered Swordfish planes to HMS Hermes and then could have them transfered where ever I wanted by train. In the same game as above, I moved the swordfish out of Singapore and onto the carrier to give them more flexibility but found that once they were there I could transfer them to any base I wanted even by rail.

4) Only 1 aggressive Royal Navy commander. I'm sure the developers would like to think that the US Navy is the 'be all and end all' of naval warfare but lets not forget who dominated for 200 years before they came about, and you don't get that by having meek and mild commanders. The way to defeat an enemy is to engage them and I seriously doubt the RN would tolerate a commander who didn't. In fact I can think of one instance where a commander was court martialled for not having done well enough in a battle he'd engaged in and won! One or too more RN officers who have some guts would be nice.

5) Don't know what altitude dive bombers are coming in at. Only shows what height they release their bombs at. In UV you were told what height planes came in at because it didn't matter what height the bombs left the rack at, it was always the same. Can we have this again so we can set the CAP at the right height?

There was something else, I just can't remember what!!!!

I guess it will have to wait, but there you have it, a couple of bugs and a little rant about dented British pride, but thats it.

Please explain exactly what you did. Static units are unable to move. If they did, this is a bug that needs to be killed.

The -r just means they are *not* flown. It will not damage the aircraft.

Torpedo attacks take place at 100 feet (200 for Japanese). It doesn't matter what altitude you set for the mission. I think you are confusing the altitude that the planes fly to the target and the altitude in which they launch their torpedoes.

Mr.Frag,

Not a problem, basically loaded up Singapore with infantry and Armour and waited until I had enough troops to attack properly. Then changed one infantry unit from Deliberate attack to Shock with Pursue. Next I hit the 'Set All' button. When I eventually won everyone moved out.

I'll be happy to email the save game if you wish as I don't seem to be able to attach it here, the files to large. However if you were to be able to see the Singapore guns now in JB you can see that you can set them to Shock attack / pursue but not to move.

Let me know if you wish to have the file. You'll just have to ignore the real hash I've made of Oz by moving everyone to Brisbane. WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!!!!

Mr.Frag,

I know the -r means they were transported by rail, but I'd flown them from Singapore to Hermes which was in the middle of the Ocean nowhere near a base (at least I think I was) and was able on the next turn to transport from the carrier by rail.

I know, I know, but in the combat report it states they dropped the torps from 13,000ft. I wish I'd saved it! Next time it happens I will.
