Mk7 and Elevated Bridge...

The Mk7 doesn't want to fire on drones regardless of range until the launching platform is within ~60km. This gives torpedo equipped ships lots of free shots between 60-100km.

The elevated bridge between Dome 1 and 2 in Hell's Kitchen was facing the wrong direction for me. Both of them had a heading 59 degrees in the save file, the one I noted should have a heading of 0 degrees I think.

*squints*

I never went to Hell's Kitchen. Somehow the Marakan carrier get in atmosphere. I think it crashed and destroyed everything. [:D]

I took a picture when I saw it, I don't think the people in the domes are going to be happy about this.

Maybe I picked up Grand Theft: Hell's Kitchen by accident and haven't unlocked the second city yet. [:D]

I can't confirm that. I just ran a test scenario with a Spectre vs. a Berents class at 80 km. The frigate definitely launched Mk7s against inbound torpedoes while the Spectre was greater than 75 km down range. Did you have a specific scenario where you witnessed this problem?

One possible explanation for the behavior you saw was that Frigates retain control over anti-fighter weapons like the Mk7 Interpceptor. If the ship's AI feels that it doesn't have time to engage an inbound shot, it will let it go rather than waste ammo in a hopeless cause.

we have the same problem with the mod

if a ship fires a ion torpedo OUT of the 40km range for the point defense the pd will not fire when it enters the 40km range, only when the fireing ship is already IN that range

and when it does fire. its only a short burst, that is REALLY innacruate and almost always misses

any ideas on how to fix?

Well, hold on. There's different AI issues for different ship classes. Are the point defense guns on a small vessel (Corvette - Frigate) or a large vessel (Destroyer - Cruiser - Battleship - Carrier) ?

Hrmm... This is with Courageous class CAs against a Devastator, I think. Although the enemy class probably doesn't matter. The Courageous usually ended up eating several torpedo volleys while closing in.

It's seems to work out like this...

Launched from 55+ km: Mk 7 won't fire at all.
~50-55 km: Mk 7 fires, but doesn't get a lock and flies off to the left without hitting anything.
<50 km: Mk 7 fires and intercepts, or misses, normally.

But, it's not much of a problem now as the Courageous' PDBs are covering the front of the ship much better.

for the b5 it was a dn firing about 6 torpedos at a ca

it fires a burst, but under the conditions in my post above, I really have not experimented with it beyond that, but when it does fire its only a short burst and almost never hits,

oddly it will fire consistany and very accuratly at fighters in range
