Actually their aircraft are not totally useless. I have one of the Martin bomber groups that has hit at least 3 enemy ships, and they are not shy of going for the big cruisers either.
Their PT boats attack enemy forces with Machine guns! (Because they can't hit anything with the torpedoes)
They are definitely some p***ed off S.O.Bs. They want to get back at the Axis so bad. I'll try to save some, and see what they can do later in the war.

In my game against the AI, my Dutch have put up a surprisingly tenacious defense. It's early March 1942, and I'm still hanging on to Batavia and points south, though the big oil centers have fallen. But yeah, gotta love those Dutch torpedo bombers.

Kinda cool to be spending so much time playing as the Netherlands. In most WW2-in-Europe games, the Dutch don't get center stage for very long. Hehe, unless you're playing Highway to the Reich, in which case the Dutch provide the battlefield. :)

Sorry, but I don't speak freaky-deaky Dutch!

Actually, I have found the Dutch Defence Forces to be very good. I massed most of my units together on day one and sent the vast majority of the naval units from the Phillipines to supplement the Dutch CL's and DD's. Then I waited....

I was unable to do much to avoid the loss of Borneo and some outlying outposts to the AI, but the supplemented naval forces and Dutch air units chewed up the transports something fierce! My two surface combat forces were finally caught without air cover returning to base from a very successfull surface raid in Borneo by 5 (count them...5) CV's and found themselves resting at the bottom of the Java Sea. Nevertheless, it is now June 1942 and Sumatra and Java are free of those pesky red squares. I frankly do not see how I could resist an invasion at this point, but it has not come as of yet.
