Crossing the T bug?

Don't know if this is a bug or just real bad luck but I've seen it several times and since I have saves should be easy to check. My 7 destroyer force crosses the T of the enemy force in night combat at 9000 yds. Then in first round of combat the enemy unloads with the bulk of its ships firing multiple salvos. A single destroyer of mine then gets off a single shot.
Its seems that either the messages are switched (i.e. maybe the allied force crossed the T and it was misreported) or the effect of crossing the T has been switched.
I realize that maybe its just bad luck but this should be checked. BTW my force was an ASW TF which possibly effects this in some way.

I do believe that neither side was surprised and I was intentionally attacking at night!
Didn't these destroyers bombard last turn?

oh no doubt I am supposed to lose this battle. I'm facing nearly your whole fleet with a bunch of destroyers!!! My concern is that I have several times recieved the message that one side or the other has crossed the T and then seen the combat results go the exact opposite way.
Had the battle opened with the statement that your guys had crossed the T it would have made perfect sence. Your battle line shot off dozens of unanswered shots. All of your heavy ships and most of your smaller vessels fired full salvos before a single ship of mine fired a single shot. Just as if you had crossed the T.
I'm not claiming I should have won this battle, I just think the combat report has some wires crossed. I suspect its something like the computer determining that you have crossed the T and then just outputing the opposite message. Still it takes some of the fun out of watching the combat reports when they don't remotely relate to the outcome of the battle.

Hi,
it might be a good idea if something like:
'IJN Commanders crossed the T on Allied Commander' would also appear in the combat report. It would lead to less people complaining or questioning combat results.
