No, it is generally against Matrix's policy to release demos (for most of their games at least).

Uncommon Valor (the game, not a demo) is cheaper, may be in the bargain bin at your local software store, and will give you some idea of what the system is like. This is a) larger in area b) longer in time covered c) has production and more grand strategy.
But a lot of the game is similar to Uncommon Valor.

Look at the old aars... search aar... there are dozens of screan shots... are you into day turns and naval, land strategic air? planning/ organizing/ supply logistics/ pilots/ leaders/ overruning your enemy? This is a great game but not a simple game... many levels of complexity, you do not need a witp degree, just enough stamina to play a game lasting a longtime( lifetime)

I like strategy war games played many. Always played demo before buying. Why against policy?

You should just read the AARs. Either way, if you buy the game, you have to read the 220 page manual, and it will take some time to get use to the game. If you do not feel like you want to put the time into learning how to play the game, then you should save your money. This game is somewhat complicated and massive in scope, but it is very fun, and after read the manual through 5 times in 3 days, it is very rewarding experience seeing your bomber land a hit on a carrier.
If you can read these AAR (After Action Reports) and you get excited by reading them, then that would be a good indication to get the game. It's currently very stable except for a few issues that have been fixed in a patch that should be out in the next couple of days. Good luck and hope you enjoy the game if you get it.

I have heard that it is very easy for warez groups to break upon the demo and allow the limited game to become a full game. This is especially true for turn based wargames because its very hard for the developers to create a true limited game. Any demo will still contain the full database.

Yeah, I found that out Talonsoft's The Operational Art of War Vol. 1. It had all the scenarios, but the one you wanted to play you had to rename to Korea 50-51. I wanted the editor, so I bought the full thing, then 2 years later the Century of Warfare edition.
