Patch question - Hold command

Hi all

Thanks for the patch. I've only tried it out for 1,5 hours or so, so far everything is cool. Two comments:

1/ Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems there's an added feature in the command menu when you right click a vessel, the 'hold' command. First I thought it was meant as a quick way to make vessels stop (could definetely use something like that), but it seems it makes them 'hold their fire'. How does it work, won't vessels return fire if attacked when given this command, and when is it appropriate to use it ?

2/ A fair number of fighters still crash into the sides of the docking ports on the carrier... is this intentional (human error) or just not completely fixed yet ?

Addendum: how does the 'move patrol' command work ? When I order vessels to 'move patrol' somewhere, they go there, but don't stop, just continue straight ahead, which is a bit annoying when fx. I'm attempting to rearrange the destroyer coverage around the carrier group.

The hold command has been in for a while. Basicly it just tells the ships to wait before heading to the new waypoint. sometimes they stop or head back to the hold waypoint other times they head strought out for the duration of the hold waypoint then turn to their new waypoint.

The hold command is useful for getting ships to stop in a place. *g*

I didn't notice it was in the right click menu- If it is, I *Think* that parts new. Useful.

I didn't suffer many crashes moving at 150 speed or so, try that. I WAS experiencing a lot of crashes just after the patch but not so much now. No clue.

Heh, well, the thing is that when you order ships to 'hold' via the right click menu, they acknowledge the order with ' roger, holding fire'...

The Hold in the right click menu is there to keep ships from attacking when you don't want them too. Otherwise ships will usually attack any enemies that are close by.

Fighter RTB behavior (issue number 2 above) is improved in 4.0.1b. PM me if you would like a beta copy to test.
