Can't get the demo to work.

I downloaded the demo and have been trying to get it to run, but it gave me the "Could not set video to requested resolution (800x600x32)" error. Ok, so I went and grabbed the video.cfg it mentioned for this problem on the download site. Now it gives me "Could not set video to requested resolution (1024x768x32). So I tried editing the video.cfg, and have had no luck so far. I tried setting it to my desktop resolution at 1920x1200x32, but it didn't seem to like that at all. I tried updating to the newest drivers (catalyst 4.7), and still no luck. Any ideas?

I'm a little baffled ... here you say ATI drivers but in Support forum, you talk about an nVidia FX card ... care to explain your machine a bit better?
nevermind ... see you have two machines. Running Cat 4.5 here with no problems.

Do I sense another person with a widescreen monitor?
I have one and i've been having issues, but none of them as serious as yours.
I personally run
Omega drivers as Dell doesnt put out new drivers for its laptops, even though its a modular ATI 9700 in there...and ATI doesnt support it cuz its a laptop...arg. Anyways, i've had good luck with these drivers for the past couple versions. He has the ones based on catalyst 4.7 up now, in case you want to try them out.
Anyways, milo and I have been working on getting the widescreen to work correctly, not too much luck yet, unfortunately.

No I didn't buy my video card in 1995, it's a Radeon 9800.
Yes I have a 24" widescreen, but that shouldn't affect a game's ability to run at 800x600 or 1024x768. It'd be nice if it supported 1920x1200 for my desktop and 1400x1050 for my laptop though.
