Mod file structure?

I'm way behind yall here...

running version 4.01 full retail

My folders are

Matrix Games\
Starshatter\
Mods\
Ships\
Weapons\
Missions\

Take the Ship "Cruiser" sample in the sample folder.

I copy all the files in that folder into my Matrix Games\Starshatter\Mods\Ships folder

In game I click options then mod config .. and nothing shows up.

I'm sure I'm missing a post with the whole explination somewhere, but I havn't found it.
The web site explination isn't entirely clear.

Can anyone "splain" to me what folders\path I need to put mods into, and how to get them to work?

I've been trying with the "sample" Cruiser files, looks like a full ship mod to me is it just that the "sample" suplied doesn't actually work? Or am I putting it into the wrong folder? Or am I missing a step somewhere?

Enable/disable mods is for .DAT files only. If you want to use mods via the directory structure, add "-Filesys" to the command line. I would place the Cruiser sample in its own folder (ie /ships/cruiser/).

Ok, I'm still lost...

Where do I add -filesys

I keep getting "windows cannot find c:\matrix games\starshatter\stars.exe-filesys

The only lines I have in shortcuts are "location" and "start in" .. both give me the same error if I try to add -Filesys to em.

Add a space between stars.exe and -filesys

you want this in 'location' only- so start in should be c:\matrix games\starshatter\, and location should be c:\matrix games\starshatter\stars.exe -filesys

if that gives you problems, try putting "c:\matrix games\starshatter\", and "c:\matrix games\starshatter\stars.exe"-filesys, in start in and location respectively, and with the quotes.

Make sure -filesys is outside of the quotation marks, if there are any.

Got it to work, thx

... odd though, I'd swear I tried it exactly the same way about 10 times when it suddenly decided to work.

Do you need do everything hard way? I simply create .BAT file for that -filesys thing. Or run it in command mode.

Hello.
And how exactly you run that command mode. I'm currious about the .bat file creation too.
