Graphics glitch: flicker

During ground missions the clouds flicker whenever I turn my ship to the side. Also, both in the ground missions and in the main menu the whole screen flickers, usually increasingly so the longer I play. Can anyone help? I have an Athlon 2600, 1024 MB RAM, GF Ti4400, 61.76 drivers. The flickering occurs even at minimum settings (800x600x16, all effects set to low/off). Thanks.

I get this too in the DEMO version-
AMD 3200+, 1 GB, ATI Radeon 9800pro. Cat 4.7's. Occurs at all settings.

It could be a refresh rate problem. Maybe VSYNC would help...?

I've tried forcing VSYNC both on and off from the Display Properties applet, and neither has made a difference. Any other way to manipulate VSYNC?
Incidentally, my refresh rate is locked at 120 Hz - has anyone else had problems at this refresh rate? Thanks,
Edit: Nevermind, I just checked and it flickers at 85 Hz too.
