I know I saw something somewhere on the site about tanker's abilities (or lack thereof) to replenish ships but I don't know where to find it. I don't want to use the tankers for a Replenishment TF but do or did they have the ability to assist other ships in the same TF or Escort TFs, much as the larger warship do? I want to send some protection for a supply TF from Karachi to Perth but there are no AOs available for the trip.

Yes, tankers can refuel other ships in a TF.

Is there a difference between tankers and oilers for this function?
