Question about features of WAW

Hi, I'm brand new to this board,,,, (been reading for a while but never post so far)
The question is:
The game support players vs Player (PBEM) and Player vs AI.
But I'm wondering if the game will support some kind of lan gameplay ???
I do hope it will feature "lan play". I was never a big fan of PBEM, i think they are too much time consuming. When I play a game i dont want to wait hours for a "PBEM repply".
If this question was answered before sorry for asking again
One more Question (off topic)
If this game is available through digital download only (Like WiTP), will it cost 92.99$ Can.
I hope not because thats gonna be the more expensive game I ever saw ??? Most game in retail store sell for 40 to 70$ in Canada.
I dont understand why the hell it cost so much since all this money goes to matrix and the developer, no intermediate ???? Anyway maybe one day i will pay 92.99$ for WitP, but this day as not come yet (maybe if i win at loterie). WitP seem great but i just cant afford that.
BTW sorry for mistake, I'm french speaking.

no clue on the LAN part but even if it is only PBEM it should not be hard to just play it hot seat. A bit of a pain in the butt but not hard.
As for the price and distribution... last I heard it was still up in the air if it would be a retail game or not. Either way it will still be direct download also. The price.... not sure if you can trust it but the site for Electronics Boutique says 39.99 american.

Game supports 5 players, in PBEM, hotseat, and/or vs AI in ANY combination you may think of (for instance: 2 sides may be controlled by you and me, and remaining three by AI etc.)
"LAN play" is not supported as such simply because this game does not play in continuous time (or "real time"). Game is TURN BASED, so some sort of turn based system of play must be present. No one can stop you from having 4-5 buddies in the same office playing WAW, but they'll have to use hotseat or PBEM for making their turns because this game is *turn based* [:D]
Your question about having "LAN play" in this sort of game reminds me of a guy (pretty aggresive dude) who *demanded* that HTTR (this other Matrix game) *must* have PBEM option, simply because he wants to play it in PBEM. HTTR is played in "continuous time" so there is NO way to exchange turns and play PBEM. It took some time for this to sink in for him [:D] (no offense).

I am not the one to comment about price, but for all I know this game will be priced "normally", and available in stores (unlike WITP, which is a monster game, and has special price, and is available as download only). Again don't take what I said regarding price as "official".

i agree if the game cost $93 cdn i would probably not buy it... the most i would ever be willing to pay for a game is $70, but at the price it better come in a box and have somesort of documentation with it, if it is just a download i would have to think long and hard to pay $70 so i hope it is alot cheaper than that (i am going back to school after all, combined with the fact i am married with 2 kids really limits my budget at the moment)

"LAN play" is not supported as such simply because this game does not play in continuous time (or "real time"). Game is TURN BASED, so some sort of turn based system of play must be present.
It is possable to play a LAN game on a turn based game, as is demostrated by the Combat Mission games such as CMAK.
In this case each player (two) does a turn and presses 'OK', when every one has pressed 'OK' it processes it and displays the minute of battle.

CM is a WE-GO system with one replay. W@W does not work the same way.

I was just wondering if you get to design your own units or how that works. Also I was wondering if the game needs to "follow" history (Does germany and the Soviet Union have to fight, or can they be allies? Does Japan have to attack the US on Dec. 7 1941?) Can you "give" units to other players/nations?

You don't "design" units, you research their various attributes thus making them more capable than respective units of your enemies. Game does follow the history, but not too closely.
So the answer to your question is Germany and SU *will* have to fight, eventually, they can't be allies, but the date and the manner in which their war is going to be started is not set in the game. Same goes for Japan and US - they will fight eventually, but it does not have to be on Dec 7th, nor it has to be Japan who will start the war.
If Soviet Union and/or US are not attacked by January 43, they activate automatically, declaring war on Axis powers. It is up to Axis player(s) to decide whether it's more profitable to attack them earlier or to leave them to activate automatically.
Your last question - you can't give units to other players/nations but you can help them with supply (essential!) as per Lend Lease, Russian conwoys, Ledo road etc.

The game sounds dynamic but yet not overwhelming that it is not fun, is this a true read on the game?

It is definitely not overwhelming but there are a quite a number of decisions that need to be made (research choices, production decisions, campaign decisions, counter partisan deployment, supply production v unit production, supply lines ect. ect.) that will make each game different and enjoyable....the priority for this game is to have fun...
