Some simple questions:
In the purchase screen you have a selection of 88 mm guns .88AT, 88 FLAK etc and some have asterisks after them ,like so 88 FLAK**.
The question is from your experience how effective is each gun in its non intended role? eg. 88 FLAK as AT or Inf guns.Are they ALL interchangeable in their roles.?will AT shoot at planes
Is their a unit that fires Indirect?
Has any body tried these against high level bombing runs-do they make a difference?
What do the asterisks ** mean?

FlaK units will opfire at planes. They can direct fire at armoured and soft targets on the ground.
PaK units will not fire at planes and are better suited for firing at armoured targets.

Not sure about the asterisks. Which version and which nation are you playing?

There is a scenario design 88 indirect artillery unit in the Norway OOB

Those asterisks sound like weight class indicators in original SP. Perhaps some other variant like H2H has kept them? In that case two asterisks means 'very heavy' and needs a prime mover or heavy truck to move it. Carry capacity must be like 2xx and the xx numbers must be equal or bigger than the crew of an 88
