The Emperors delight, or humble pie?

Responding to early warnings by intercepts and a fearful dream, kimmel and company put the entire pacific Joint task force, brits and dutch, aussies too, on high alert and sortied major ships from all bases.. air units where shuttled.. the results are 1 dd sunk outside Pearl, several subs for each side damaged..... The Japanese commander Prime Minister Kaleun did not order the immediate attack of port facilities in Singapore or invasions of Borneo. Roosevelt calls for massive retaliatory strikes on the home Islands but cautions "we are a peaceful people and where not ready for war agains Japan and Germany."
The Philipines looks to be the major area of Us trouble.... with massive landings in the Northern Zone
In Malasya more JAps than you can count landing, Brit commanders calling for reinforcments.. no decisions made yet.. at least publicly[:-]

Intercepted by signet code breakers
/////
Results are PATHETIC. Pearl harbor was a total wash. Not a single capital ship's paint was scratched. And I have no f****** idea where his carriers are now (we did the variable setup thing).
I'm telling you Pathetic.
Perhpas this belongs in the AARs. totally embarrasing

Nihon News Service:
Landings in the Philipines and Malaya continue as planned.
3 Destroyers, apparently from the British colony of Hong Kong, try to interfere with the landings in the Philippines. They were promptly dispatched to a watery grave. Also the doomed Americans sortied a PT task force against our landing beaches. They also were disposed of. The first base falls in the philippines, with its defenders retreating to Lingayen.

Us new reports confirms the above, stating a valient attempt to intercept troops landing in the Phillipine was defeated in a bloody night battle...
From freeboy... the missing cvs are about to be come "found".. and my Pearl harbor starting bb's will not be forgotten as they head towards fame in the pacific. In the East I see lots of Jap troops everywhere.. .. and hopefully I can get some help soon from the US air assets....
K has made a priority in the Philipines, I wonder if he will attack DEA soon???
not that I am complaining.....

Imperial Navy headquarters reports US Destroyers John D Ford, Peary and Pillsbury (AKA the Dough boy) sunk by our glorious airforces near Laong, in the PI.
The imperialistic British suffered the loss of DD Tenedos, Encounter and Electra that were trying to interfere with our landings at Kuantan.
Also the enemy base at Aparri has been liberated, and the airbase is now in the service of the glorious Japanese empire.

Operation China Girl starts as Victorious Chineese units defeat the Jap invaders, setting them back in Southern China... Elsewhere those nasty Jp BB's show up on the door step of Singapore.. "lookout incoming".. wish I had more/better air assets and K would see some bubbles in place of these burly bb's. He has fled Hawian waters after losing plaines against my alerted aa units and damaging a few minor ships. Elsewhere my cv's should make there presence felt soon.. operation IN YOUR FACE started and will continue till expenditures are completed.. lol.. Hey K, watch out for he 2nd MArines....
He is pouring troops into MAlasya and Philipines.. no hope for victory, so I am content to slow him down... It sure would be nice to have some of those Ruskies in play [:D][:D]
I have to face the facts that movement from the US to anywhere is really slow going.
Also, Makin fell... looks like we will be fighting in that region as well.

I thought I would take a moment to set up out readers for my overall strategy as the allied commander, without giving up too many details, Kaleun reads and posts obviuosly.
First off we went the Total non historical first turn, I sortied every major ship sub from Pearl, with all my BB's getting away. As I didn't expect his carriers, they did attack fyi, I sent asw tf to areas arround PH, he hit them.. poor bastards.... Sent my carriers out towards Wake hoping to hit him unaware.. he has a vulnerable ca group punding wake as my forces are still holding on. In Malaysia he is onto Koto Bhura and I cannot stop him, So I dispersed my air to keep it available and hoping to get some lucky hits on his Naval surface forces. Last turn his BB's which had been suspitiously absent showed up in Malay waters... [:-]
Did the same with the dea forces. the Philipines is a desaster so far, pt boats and dd's mauled in engagements. limited ground success in The southeastern most base in China, was able to take it from Him.. cannot remember the name... hurray the troops yelled.. I thought that was funny, what do you think thant means in Chineese?????\
So where are we? I have my cv's and bb's for the us, all theose nice b17's we start with..
The British ships, Dutch planes and ships... he has not attacked Borneo and that actually has me worried.. where will all those units I normally attack with be sent?
Any idea what to do with the MArines? He has attacked Makin but not Rabaul, yet.. I expect him too, he seems a thourough catios player as in past games... Hopefully in the first 6 I can mount something a a defense against him in the Solomans, Gilberts. Also Would Like to keep Burma, good luck I tell myself... and while keeping dea is not realistic, I would like to hurt him, maybe sink some bb's or a cv if he ventures these assets. (like now with the BB) I really like the fow aspects... his cv;s vanished last turn north of pearl, so unless he hits Midway I have no idea.. are they headed home? towards SF? we will see... and I cannot stop them , but I can run and hide and maybe set up and ambush....
So K whats next...( my oponent is on vacation.. lucky guy in beautiful Spain.... so K hiding out? Stop your vacation and send me my turn.. lol [X(]

My cvs attack and sink some ships south of Wake Island, which is still mine.. yeh!!!
Missed thier primary target though, his Ca's.. one of my favorite items is fow.. are they Ca's?
other, nothing? I am sure they are something but my air assetts from two cvs attacked two dd's and some transports, hopefully loaded with troops which will drowned in the deep,
that sounds bad[:-]
Nanning was the city the Chineese liberation army liberated ...
In other area nothing to report... Operation in your face continues on pace, lets see what K's response is, I cannot let you know yet the secret details, but it is an offensive target of opertunity that should be attacked in This month.....
Playing the Allies doesn't suck as badly as I was worried,it is actually fun in 41. But where are those Jap cv's???? no luck from my Catalinas sent to Midway.. they, K's cvs, could end my foray at Wake quickly.. bubble bubble and oil slick...[:-]
more to come

Enterprise and Lexington flee Wake area as K's ships mysteriously vanish, note to self, place PBY's in Wake in the future...
K's CV's show up too close for comfort North of Midway, Not much else other than a small invasion of Borneo... Really would like one month of free moves to set up a defense [X(]
There is just so much Japmanpower...
My air forces are not able to hit the broad side of a barn with a shovel.. but soon that elusive first AP sunk will happen... I did manage to get a hit with US carrier planes on something south of Wake. The Dutch and Brits just kill fish so far... but eventually this will change.... In China My forces continue to build build build....
This is day 7 I believe.. Dec 13th

Next turn, I have chickened out in operation in your face... anyone want to guess what that was? Hint less than Doolittle and more than a poke in the eye with a stick???
Nothing new... exceipt I finally got a hit on a tranport in DEA land... yeh!!!

Ok.. no guesses ?? In your face was the daring attempt to boster US moral by attacking Kwejjelien(sp) with BBs inititally sortied from Pearl. Chickened out after Nells made an unsuccessfull attack against these slow targets. They now are headed elsewhere.
Hong Kong finally falls... and my planes are getting better with several hits on IJN ships by lba....
I have several surprises cooking for K, but boy does it take a long time to move , you really have to think in weeks and months for strategic rebasing

The IJN lands more troops in Borneo, nothing new in China. I will get some pix up soon.
My slow bb fleet leaves the Nell infest water around the Kwejelien without facing other raids.
Finally my Dutch master of the air start getting hits, as do the Brits...
Wake still in my possesion after day10!!!
I plan on make K pay for its "liberation.
In the Philipines Clark airbase reports the sounds of gunfire and multiple units are broken up and sent elsewhere.

Operations in the DEI and Philipinnes continue as planned.
The annoying SS Sealion, that was making a nuisance of itself in Aparri goes to a watery grave.
Meanwhile SS I-25 misses AS Pelias near French Frigate shoals. No secret where that one is going.
Makin is bombarded by the BBs that fled Kwajalein.
China is being liberated by leaps and bounds.

what where these guys doing here? long ago they where told to leave, a full inquiry has been ordered and heads will roll. K beat the crap out of a poor as by midway, lucky bugger/// I also am a little concerned about his carriers? where will they show up, probably steaming towards home?
Lets hope so...
I move some B 17 to China, where the successfull Chinese have now liberated TWO cites in the South.. HOORAY. Bombs will begin fallin on those Japs...
PI is sorry, no ships, no planes / "no mama no papa no Uncle Sam "as the old Bataan poem goes.. They could use 2 divisions, some supply and 500 planes right about now....
I do have one surprise for the evil K.... bubble bubble.. only will it be mine or his?
The battle for the next six months should be interesting as US forces steam weastward to halt the IJN... I would like to think I can hold MAly Burma longer than historical, but things look bad... too few air assets. MAybe I should shuttle some USN planes from the carriers?
any thoughts from the crowd? comments welcome...
Where is my turn? K must be planing the next invasion of wake! or Midway.. ?

On land things slow down, Rabaul and Wake still are mine, K's cv that pounded an empty PH are nowhere to be seen, but we are looking. B17 based in China raid Hanoi causing rejoicing in the US..
Roosevelt declares "We will take wthis war to the Heart of enemy territory"
In other news I hold the western half of Borneo, but strong forces are seen headed that way, reinforcments called for but may not arrive in time. I really love those pesky Dutch Subs....

China will start heating up soon, as the troops get into position. Comrade Mao is in full retreat in the north, near Yenen.
Also the troops are getting into position in the PI for the big offensive.
I knew I should have escorted those transports at Brunei. Of course Japan does have a certain shortage of escorts, which are mostly used in chasing down those pesky Dutch subs!
