I know this is probably an extremly dense question but just how do I use mods in starshatter? I have created a test 1 to get me started and i can see it on the mods screen but when I enable it I cannot find my ship in the mission editor, slao I have a problem withthe menu duplicating itself ie. I get 2 custom mission, missions and multi player options.
I want to do sum serious modding but can't seem to get over this 1st hurdle.
Thnx in advance 4 any1s help

Im assuming you have not used modfile.exe to make you mod a .DAT yetr since you said it does not show up on the Mod screen. So:
Make a shortcut to stars.exe. BUT add -filesys to the command line. This will disable multiplayer but its the only way.
If it is .DATed (using modfile.exe) then place the .dat in starshatters root directory.

How do you use the modfile.exe to turn the mod into a .dat? I've been looking around in the manual and on the official website but I can't find anything.

Copy your MODS folder to a temp folder.
Put modfile.exe in the same temp folder.
Run the command line.
Goto the folder
Type modfile.exe youemodhere.dat and hit enter.
-Should watch it compress the files.
Copy yourmodhere.dat into your Ss root folder
run Ss as normal.
Goto Options -Mods -Enable your mod.

Thanks for the help. I did that and made it into a .dat, but in the game it won't stay enabled for some reason. I'll try making it again and messing around with it some more.
