Template - Empty Scenarios

Hi,

I've seen somewhere in 'Wish list thread' (now locked) request for empty scenario.

Here it is, two versions

scenario #99
former Scenario 15, ships, airgroups and locations set to delay 9999 (not avalaible)
http://www.arkady.cz/storage/099-empty.zip

scenario #100
former Scenario 16, ships, airgroups and locations set to delay 9999 (not avalaible)
http://www.arkady.cz/storage/100-empty.zip

Info for scenario creators
--------------------------
In your new scenario use at least 6 LCUs for each side, otherwise game will freeze during execution phase.

Note that all coordination of bases are removed, you'll need on activation of base re-enter X and Y locations. As reference you can use excellent Bodhi's excel sheet (see Matrix Games forum).

Thanks to Leo "Apollo 11" for feedback :)

Any problems report to me via mail (arkady@arkady.cz) or Matrix Games WITP forum.

Thank you. That will save a lot of people a lot of work.

I haven't looked at them yet but did you remove everything or just set everything's arrivial time to 9999? I think the later would be better because it would allow people to add something back in rather quickly without having to reenter all the data.

no, removed everything, empty list

but setting arrival time to 9999 is not a bad idea, I'll try it...tomorrow [;)]

Agree with Damien, setting to 9999 (not used in scenario) would be a lot more user friendly than deleting.

Arkady, which files have you mapped? Willing to exchange info on the database files?

here it is

all entries in locations and air groups are set to delay 9999
two files only (wplXXX.dat and wpgXXX.dat)

replace XXX with number of your scenario, use it at your won risk [:D]

Nice - thanks!

BTW, you did use some external program to do that - right?

I'm willing but no files mapped yet ... [:D]

I've found only some locations for my small utility that replace delay values (double word - offset 0D0020 for locations, 036EE8 for air groups)
For all-clean files I simply created files filled with $00 and specified size [;)]

I want map air groups file this weekend...depends on my wife and her view about our free time though. [8D]

Hello,

One more question...

Did you delay every ship, air group and land combat unit in your "empty" scenario file?

those two files delayed all entries in Locations list (lcu and bases too) and Air Groups list

no ships delayed yet, working on it

And yes, I made one small utility for this.

Your idea about editor improvements (with filters etc.) is interesting, now I must find what si stored where in scenario files and maybe later I'll create alternative editor with more user friendly interface.
Bodhi is working on some add-on too, we need exchange our knowledge to avoid duplicity [:)]

_GREAT_ - thanks againi!

BTW, I sincerely hope Matrix/2by3 will imprpove the WitP editors and remove the need for thousands of unecessary mouse clicking tasks...

Hi all,

"Arkady" have you, perhaps, done some further work on empty scenario files (i.e. moved all dates and locations)?

not yet
I spent a lot of time on catching bugs in my export utility.

I've problems with output from my days-until-arrival algorithm against actual in-game data and database date of arrival delay value...after hours I realized that I set in game reinforcement to Variable [:D] = few days differencies

Don't think you can do that ... there are some other tables in there that are not user editable such as sides etc.

your're right, I found that there are some 'hidden' parts in data files that can not be user edited

I'm working on new version of template scenario

all is untouched except ships, locations and airgroups, those will be set to delay 9999 (N/A)

No 'clean' files version

hard to work this week, too hot at this part of Europe [:D]
