How Beefy?

How beefy should a dedicated server be? I'm thinking of using my box for a server, but it may not be rebust enough to handle that many players. Any recommendations?
I might be willing to put a sever up, on my network here, I run a network in the office in my home, 16 port routers etc, computer in every room, several in the office, If I did I would build a new box for it,
P4 3.2 and 2 gig mem would probbly do it, or an AMD 64. The only problem would be is to get a static IP for it. Right now I just run DHCP. Any thoughts??
Oh, And I do like the idea of the B5 mod.... Looks good so far!!![:D]
