Some thoughts about Melee

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

-Melee Combat can only occur if both units are in the same Hex

-Infantry units can't move in hexes that are occupied by enemy Infantry

If both thoughts are right, then "Why is it so???".
I mean, I move my Infantry closer and closer and when I almost reach the enemy position I just can't storm it?
I sit there and start to fire instead of getting in contact with his Infantry?
Why can't I close in with some Infantry Squads an then just overrun him?

Use the shift key to move into a hex with an enemy unit. Just the same as when you need to stack your own units.

Yeah.
What i know is, there are times that both your troops and the enemy's were at the same grid. If so, order a melee have a higher kill rate than all the shootin' and bombing does.
But then, how to get the troops into the same grid is the problem. What happend to me was they get into this sticky situation in the enemy's turn.
