Canadians Questionable as Allies

I have always wondered how reliable and committed the Canadians were as allies of the United States. Now I have the proof: they weren't.
I just had a pilot on a training mission out of Prince Rupert crash and get captured. That tells me that one of two things is happening:
1. Either the mounties are asleep at the switch and don't know that the Japanese have invaded Canada, or
2. A significant portion of the BC population was against the war effort. Maybe they were Vichy French separatists, but I didn't think BC was caught up in the Franco issues.
Of course, I guess it could be that he was captured by the Americans and got sent to Guantanamo because he had a funny accent, eh? Regardless, I'm moving three division up to the Canadian border to keep an eye on things. Any Canadian aircraft straying across the border will be shot down. I'm sorry it had to come to this, because I'm **sure** that this could not be just a random event generated by the game. [8|]
[To our good friends to the North (of the U.S.), I'm obviously having some fun. Had to chuckle that a guy gets captured while on a training flight over Canada.]

Obviously the pilot was captured by TF 38's SNLF expeditionary force. They are working him over now for the shortest route to bacon. Mmmmm....baaaaaaaacon.

Funny: I was thinking of that thread when I posted the event.
You think that's what actually happened? TF 38's "invasion" actually took place and no one noticed? That SNLF unit has probably been wondering where everyone is. Now they're questioning Lt. Mandrake about where they can find some food (preferably a MacDonald's, I'm sure) and, more importantly, WHERE IN THE H*LL ARE WE? Or, more likely, where is there someone that we can surrender to? I guess Mandrake remained silent, because I have not seen any message that an SNLF unit has surrendered to the Canadians.

Crashed in one of the Japanese-Canadian internment camps. It's a problem with random outcome generation I bet. I lose pilots to capture over friendly territory all the time.

Could be. Even though I haven't seen any reinforcements accelerated, I did commit three divisions to the frontier in response. Would seem to have the affect. What a well-designed game! When humans start aping the AI's responses to an input, that is quality!

No need to worry about Canada's commitment, because the US joined Canad. Canada decalred war on Japan on Dec. 7. The US waited 'til the next day.

If the truth be known, the Canadian government thought the Japanese had bombed "Pearl's Arbor", the notorious capitol bordello whose buxom lasses serviced generations of Canadian politicians and civil servants and kept it very "hush hush, you know, eh?" It was only the next day that they discovered their error but by then it was too late. Pearl's did run a "25 per cent off getting off" night to mollify the mortified pols, however.

Apparently one can argue the Americans did.

Well, you know what Winston CHurchill said about Pearl Harbor: "Thank God we've won the war."

I think you should check the commander of the air unit from which the pilot was lost. It's probably a Japanese WO.
