Game Version

I just downloaded the game and both patches. I applied the patches in order required. I think that the game has been updated, but I can't see where it tells what version I am running? I'm sure that it is something simple that I'm overlooking.

It doesn't show the patch version anywhere. The patch will put a pdf file in your game directory (What's New). It will also put little dots on the mini-map that indicate your opponent's positions. Check for this to see if all went well with the update.

The mini-map has little colored squares on it. And the what's new file is on the menu. What kind of threw me is when I applied each patch, I had to enter the serial number???

The "new" dots on the mini-map are for your opponent. The earlier version of the game only indicated where your own units were on the mini-map.
The serial-number requirement is a copy-protection measure, and it's the norm now for Matrix Games.

I am "Assuming" that with FOW on, the enemy dots will not be there??? I'm at the office now. I'll check it out later this evening.

I keep getting this error message: WaveoutOpen. MMsystem004. The specified device is already in use. Wait until it's free and then try again. ???????????????? Once it caused a CTD. If I answer ok to the error box, it keeps coming back several times and then usually everything seems to work. I've applied both patches.
I get the message when I start the game and when I am done with giving orders and click the "End Orders" button...

After reading some older posts, I found that someone else had this problem. Marc's advice was to update the sound driver, which I did. Problem solved..[8|]
